One of the aspects of clay that really grabs me is the variety of techniques. It's like being a kid in a candy store, zipping from one end to the next; not sure which to have first. I am determined to try each one as I develop as a potter, honing the ones that attract me the most.
One of the techniques I really like and want to perfect is slip trailing. I became fascinated with it as I researched Japanese potters and discovered the work of Hamada Shoji. Then I saw British pottery and also contemporary American potter Alex Matisse and was hooked.
So here I am, plodding along, trying to find my footing; learning how to loosen up and getting the right slip consistency.
Here are some pieces I've done so far.
Be blessed,
GretaMichelle
