When I started exploring the world of clay I spent time 'playing'with sodium silicate. I moved away because there were so many other techniques to explore.
I revisited the technique these past couple of weeks, with the intent on pushing the boundaries; not just brushing on the sodium silicate but applying it deliberately, leaving areas free, pushing the form out till it cracked through or pouring on the silicate or adding it to slip.
These are the results so far. Can't wait to see them fired.
You’ve gotten some nice surfaces there. They should be beautiful after glazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lori, I am really enjoying the process.
