My latest work. Three bottles and a plant pot for my mom. Seriously loving the clay!
Also got a chance to visit my mentor Mrs Gloria Harewood. What an inspiring woman! Will blog about her with pictures next time.

Five!

Today it seemed the clay and I bonded. I threw five- Yes I did say five and I kept all of them.Worked in stoneware and low-fire white. Experimented with shapes and textures. Here they are.

Another bottle form. I like this one.

Experimented texture and shape here.

My stoneware pieces start from here. This is another bowl.

Vase with elegant lines.

Another vase; this one has texture added with the footing tool.

Here a Bottle, There a Bottle!

Remember the bottle that I made on Monday? Well if you don't check here for a reminder. Picked it up to clean it and low and behold- no bottom! (Insert sad face here).
So yesterday I went to the ceramics studio and pulled two more. This time making sure there was a base. Considering I only started throwing in January I think I'm doing pretty okay.
Be blessed,

First Stoneware Anything!

I just love getting Dick Blick boxes. Got myself some new pottery tools. Woo Hoo! Used them yesterday to throw my first stoneware anything. (In this case the anything was a bowl) A little wonky on the right side but I am still proud of it. Stoneware is a lovely clay body, which I will definitely be investing some time in.

Also threw a vase and a bottle on Monday with the low-fire white.

Be Blessed,
GretaMichelle

Today's Effort

Here are three different views of the planter I made today. Getting taller.

The other news is that I got my hands on some Maccabee cone 5 porcelain body. Excited to try new clays especially one that's so silky and classy. It's still trying to decide what to make of me but I am sold on it! It's the same excitement I felt when I first tried oils- and never went back to any other paint.

Be Blessed,
GretaMichelle
